100 Day Project Day 3
Day 3 of The 100 Day Project! Fun fact: you can bonsai a rose bush by trimming back and restricting the growth of its roots, and that’s exactly my intention for the rose I put in this up cycled basket planter.
It was in a pretty bad way when I got ahold of it, which is why I decided to hurry up and get it planted last night after the Mod Podge was mostly dry. Hopefully it’ll pull through and be a stunner.
So here’s the rose bush. It’s obviously very sad and downtrodden. I trimmed back the roots and cut off everything that was dead, so hopefully it’ll be okay.
I didn’t take any pictures of the pruning/bonsai preparation or planting because I don’t really know shit about doing it and am just kind of winging it. I don’t want to be responsible for anyone else killing their plants. If it works out and ends up that I did it properly, maybe I’ll post something about it in the future.
So despite the silver/gold lining betrayal situation, I’m going to decorate the outside of the basket with gold paint anyway.
I used a Krylon “18 kt gold leafing pen” to decorate the basket.
Tomorrow I’ll finish up decoration for the rim of the upcycled basket planter and I’ll dress up the drainage tray a bit, and maybe even get to start the next project.
I guess we’ll see.
