100 Day Project Day 16
Quick Links: On Day 14 I went over how to remove ink from plastic bags so that you can start with a blank canvas. On Day 9 I went over how to make plarn. And on Day 11 I did an experiment with adding paint to plastic bags to make colored plarn.
*Update 2: Since this post, I’ve made an all-in-one post about removing ink, coloring, and making plarn. Read it here.
Day 16 of The 100 Day Project: So yesterday I removed the ink from some plastic bags and then put them out to dry. Today I went ahead and added some paint to them.
I’m using the hot pink survey marking paint that I found before, and since it’s so bright I wanted just like a hint of it that would show up now and again on the strands.
To do that, I twisted each bag up starting at the bottom corner and made a loop to hold it tightly while I painted it. (P.s. try not to be jealous of my super extra feathered house sandals.)
Then I hung them all from the line outside and flattened them out once they dried.
theyre really pretty and I’m excited to cut them up into plarn tomorrow. I think they’re going to turn out nicely.
